The studio

Two friends, always too many ideas, and a shared ambition to build something substantial. We created Côté Gauche Production to bring our skills together and make our own applications.

How it started

We first talked about a CV tool, then an app for speaking with people nearby, regardless of their language. Every conversation brought another idea. Eventually, we needed to make one happen.

Starting the studio gave us a framework to work together: choose a project, decide what matters and see it through. Arthur brings development and cybersecurity; Paul brings engineering and project coordination.

Orée is our first shared project. It brings together what we wanted to build: an app for everyday use, a visual world people can become attached to, and care for personal data.

What we want to make

Applications we want to use ourselves, with a clear purpose. We start with a practical use, then work on making it simple and enjoyable. Pixel art gives each project a recognisable world.

Two backgrounds, one shared project

Arthur builds the apps and their infrastructure. Paul organises the stages, tracks constraints and coordinates the project. We decide on features, art direction and priorities together.

From the first attempt to feedback

We start with the essential features, use them and test them. A confusing screen, an awkward interaction or repeated feedback gives us specific things to improve. The project grows from these trials.

What comes next

Our focus is Orée. After that, we plan to make a small video game with an offbeat story. The format changes, but we want to keep the pleasure of building a world and sharing it.

How we work

  1. Define the project

We decide together what the app should do, who it is for and what constraints we need to work with.

  2. Develop

Arthur handles development. Paul organises the project and coordinates the work.

  3. Test and improve

We test the project, gather feedback and fix what needs attention.
